ABS comes on after almost complete stop

I have a 97 and it's started doing this intermittently.



Come to what is almost a complete low speed stop (like at the end of a driveway or going into a parking space) the ABS comes on and the car rolls a bit. Car will stop but the pedal goes to the floor.



Anybody run into this before?

There could be any number of reasons why your brake pedal goes to the floor. The bottom line is that you really need to get a good diagnosis of the problem. Call around to local brake & muffler shops (like Midas, Mineke, etc.) and see if they offer no-cost brake checks.



Not to dis the fine members of this forum, but you're going to get a whole lot of ideas of what the problem is if you try to diagnose this problem via the forum. I might be cheaper to have it fixed for you than for you to do the 'R&R' (remove and replace) method of diagnosing.

Take the car to a brake specialist, dealer or an import shop.



Seems like you have air in your system or the abs pump is failing.

A faulty wheel speed sensor can cause this too. Best to get it diagnosed before throwing parts at it. In this case, they're all expensive.

this sounds a lot like a wheel speed sensor. i have seen this many times.
