Why is my 4Runner emblem on the pass side?

99 V6 4x4 SR5



I just noticed this last week that all the other 4Runners I've seen around have the 4Runner emblem on the driver side.



Anyone else have it on the passenger side? Or has mine been rear ended and got mixed up? The carfax was clean.

Are you referring to the same generation 4Runner that you have? Most if not all that I've seen don't have badges on the sides.

Sorry. I forgot to mention I'm talking about the emblems on back door. The rear of the vehicle.

I think the previous owner decided he wanted to be different and moved it to the right side. OR, there was an accident and the body shop guys put it there. CarFax doesn't report all accidents, only the ones that are reported though the insurance company.

I'm stumped. The paint dead on matches all around so I don't know about it ever being wrecked. Everything else has remained stock and untouched.

Use the old magnet trick to see if it was repaired, unless the whole back door was replaced.
